Are you ready to follow His Spirit?

“But I will send you the Advocate--the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.”
-John 15:26

We are Privileged the be Children of God (John 15:15, 2 Cor. 6:18). We give/serve/gather, not because we have to be because we get to! Regardless of our situation, those who follow Christ have received many gifts from God and those gifts enable us to not only live authentically but to experience joy in all circumstances. This truth can encourage us when things looks bleek, but more importantly it has the power to transform our lives.
 
With these blessings fresh in our minds this week we shift our focus to the temple of God. In the Old Testament the temple of was were the people could go to pray, to sacrifice, and to enter in to God’s presence. Today, those things still happen at the temple. However, God’s temple isn’t made of brick, mortar, and precious stones any more. It is built in the hearts of His followers (1 Cor. 3:16) and God’s presence comes through the indwelling of his very own Spirit, the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 2:11-12). God’s temple as described in the Old Testament was a holy place and His temple today is no different. That holiness can shine through every word, every action, and every moment of our lives if we let it. Paul says “…consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Rom. 8:18) Followers are Christ, are you ready to follow His Spirit in to that glory?
