Jesus loves everyone. Since we are his people, we strive to do the same. We do not define our church as a building, place, or location, but rather as a presence in our community. Jesus came to offer salvation, but he also healed the sick, and provided food for the hungry. This is our goal as a church as well. We are constantly looking for opportunities to share the good news of Jesus with the community and love them.
"AND HE SAID TO THEM, "GO INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL TO THE WHOLE CREATION."
We have three types of outreaches to share the love of God with St. Pete:
Church Wide
Reliance strives to be a church that is not only active in advancing Christ in St. Petersburg, but around the world as well. We do this by supporting missionaries around the world, taking missions trips, and most importantly prayer. Around St Pete we want to be known as a church that loves our community. We reach out to the community in several different ways, from prayer walks, to service projects, to passing out water bottles in the park, even to coming along side of young families. Our goal is to give every person in St Pete a way to feel the love of Christ. Lifegroups
Our Lifegroups are small groups that meet in homes throughout the city. Being geographically based we encourage each Lifegroup to do outreaches in and around their neighborhoods. They are in a unique position to be a part of the community. They are important as we want to not only reach people, but to connect them with a community of believers as they mature in their faith. Personal
The most important type of outreach that we can do is living in such a way that the people around us see the love of Christ. Each one of us can affect our friends and family with the love of God. As part of this effort, in 2020, we are encouraging every member to elevate their lives by imitating God in our study of the New Testament book of Ephesians. |
