Thank you, Veterans

11/11/2014

November 11 was originally proclaimed as Armistice Day in 1919 as a commemoration of the armistice between the Allied nations and Germany at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to cease hostilities and bring about the end of World War I. Now we remember all Veterans and the peace that they help preserve and bring to our country.

Today is a day to say Thank you to the Veterans that served and are serving our Country.  At 11:00 am today there will be a moment of silence held all over the country to remember current and past Veterans. Today is day to be thankful for those men and women who serve our country so that we can live free.

Each time we have a military type holiday, I am reminded of why our country was began. It was for religious freedom, and as I have heard many say"religious freedom" loosely. It was definitely founded on God,  the one true living God and not any other.

Thank you. Thank you for your service, for your bravery, and for your time. To some, thank you for your life. Freedom isn't free, but I am grateful I get to live free.

One Year and Counting

It's really hard to believe we having been meeting corporately as a church for one year now. The end of October one year ago Reliance began meeting in St Petersburg High School for worship services on Sunday. It's even harder to fathom that In July of 2013, we met in living room with a handful of people until October when we secured St Pete High. God is amazing and everyday I am in awe of his wonder, his greatness and his ability to orchestrate HIS church.

Though we were disappointed that our friends and prayer partners at Thomas Road Baptist were not able to come back this year due to unfortunate circumstances, our anniversary week was awesome!

We gave out pom poms to the fans at St Pete High School with our information stapled to them on Friday night to not only get our name out...but as a Thank you,  to our immediate community for allowing us to use their property.

The next morning we got up and hit the pavement and put out almost 1000 door hangers in the Kenwood community that surrounds St Pete High School where we meet.

We have been busy, but God is Good and we are so very thankful to get the privilege to reach out into our community and serve.
Please continue to pray for us as God continues to grow His church !!!!
