Day of Prayer

We are asking you to join us this Saturday for a day of prayer !!! Michael of our group has put this together and it is our hope that you will join us throughout the day with your prayers.

This is a day devoted to the Reliance Team gathering together with the unified purpose of prayer. I truly hope and pray that this day will be a blessing to each of us; that it will grow us in our faith and that we will witness God work through it. Below is a table that I have created to guide us through 12 hours (10am-10pm) of joint prayer. We are not demanding that you cancel all plans for the day, but that a spirit of prayer would exist throughout your day and scheduled events. How much time you spend in actual prayer within the time slots defined below is between you and God. Most sections have a 2 hour time slot to allow for some flexibility to work around various events; some sections that are lengthier have 3 hours devoted to them. Please do NOT be limited to what this guide explicitly states… it is simply an aid meant to assist you and to unite us in a common purpose throughout the day. The important thing is to take time to seek God, who has the power to grant us more than we could ever ask.

Noon-2pm

Praise

• Reflect on the character of God, your salvation, and His creation.
• What 3 aspects of God’s character stand out as you reflect on the past month and weeks?
• His unchanging character

Repent

• What do you struggle with?
• Not showing the love of His statutes and Scripture like the Psalmist discusses in Ps. 119?
• Not standing firm as discussed in Ephesians 6?
• Have some of the shortcomings of the churches in Rev. 2-3 crept into your life?
• The failures of the Church
• Look at the letters to the churches in Rev. 2-3… the Church in America often fits the description of 3:1-3, 15-17.
• The Church abandoned the culture and now our nation is facing the consequences. 
• Matt. 5:23-24 – If your brother has something against you, first be reconciled to your brother
• If you know a fellow believer has something against you, resolve that before making your offering to God.

Ask

• Unity
• Reliance Team be unified in vision, purpose, love, and labor despite the distance between some of us.
• Joint ministry with other churches and Believers.
• Eyes to See
• Let us truly see those around us.
• What are their needs, struggles, and burdens?
• What is their knowledge/understanding of the Scripture and Christ?
• Allow us to see God at work.
• Let us see how you are using the various situations in our life to grow us.
• Show us how you are bringing glory to yourself.
• Give us insight to the spiritual warfare surrounding us.
• Love
• Give us compassion for those we see and their needs.
• Fill us with brotherly affection.
• Give us a passion to share the burdens of our fellow believers.
• Wisdom
• Give us understanding of the evils that oppress the people of St. Petersburg.
• Allow us to see opportunities to address those needs and evils.
• Give us discernment in the direction/use of resources, manpower, and time.
