What a busy and great Easter we had at Reliance Church !!
Our 2nd annual "Great Hunt" was an awesome success this year. It grew so much that next year we will have to have a bigger area to have it. Lot's of doggies and their owners showed up. So what is the great hunt? Well, last year we did an Easter Egg hunt for dogs and called it the "Great Hunt". We put doggie treats in easter eggs and put the eggs out for the dogs to sniff out and or get and gave the owners little baskets/buckets to collect the eggs. In St Petersburg and many other areas of the United States, people love their pets and often treat them like part of their family. We saw this and realized what a great way to reach out to people in the community by hosting something for their pets. It was a free event and we also had a raffle and prize eggs for the furry friends. We also had coffee and donuts for the owners. It was a great event and way to engage the community and people. Sometimes we have to think outside the box. Sunday, we had many visitors and we had over 20 kids there for an Easter Egg hunt after our service. Reliance has also continued the sermon series on "My Story" and as we learn about different people in the Bible, each week we also get to hear of someone's story in the church. It is a great series as we get to know people around us and see how God works in the lives of people today just as he did many years ago. As we continue to grow, We covet your prayers! |
